How To Travel The World: The team
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Today I want to share some details of our trip research particularly in relation to the team we have, so I decided to share with you some photos as well.
I did lots of research that led to this trip and I needed a place to record everything. I use 37signals' good application called Backpack to organize information.
At first I thought it would need a much smaller bag that I really am. I'm 5'8 "and 170 pounds. In the shop it felt good to go with something like 4000 cubic centimeters. Once I started adding accessories, clothing and camping equipment I realized I needed more space. I ended up going with the Kelty Red Cloud Armada 5600 with a CPU 5600. inch capacity.
I made the right decision and the case is comfortable, about 40 pounds, and fits everything I have to take a little space free:
Footwear – must be versatile
When it came to shoes, I knew I had to meet four criteria: light, comfortable, waterproof (or at least water resistant), and elegant. I was surprised how difficult it was to find a shoe that matched all of them. At the end of the day I left with a pair of Merrell Intercept.
Another thing to remember is that shoes have very little to us that everything we do dress shoes, must be sufficiently flexible to adapt to a variety of different costumes.
I Tried Fivefinger Vibram rubber sandals, and while comfortable, are not as practical as I had imagined. The Vibram also require weekly washing to avoid feel weird.
Backpacks – Comfort is key
These backpacks are generally more small that you can take with you on day trips while you leave your backpack at the hostel safe camping. I was a little different, including the slings. Due the fact that I am taking a laptop, camera and a scarf Kindle was big enough. Slings most are not as comfortable as a backpack normal. I chose the STM laptop bag
I tried a Pacsafe backpack. These packages a little heavier and usually have less compartments. The great advantage is that they are bar-proof and equipped with reinforced wire straps.
Why you need a backpack cable reinforced bar-proof?
Not infrequently, are the least developed countries have the backpack as an ideal target for petty theft. The thieves might try to pull the bag back, pulling and breaking his shoulder straps. It will be difficult reinforced with wire straps. The second strategy is to use an exacto knife to significantly reduce the bottom of the pack for some of the heaviest and, in general the most valuable content will fall, good luck clearing through metal son.
I'm not sure how I tried pacsafe had only two large compartments and a few small bags for small items.
Tents – Find the lightest
One of the heaviest items, I will be taking tent. A tent for two people is really too small for two people. We decided to go with a tent Marmot Limelight 3 people comfortably fit two people with a small spare room and a place to put our backpacks.
Make sure the store is sealed and waterproof. You want to get a fingerprint. A fingerprint is a layer of plastic that goes under the tent is waterproof and easy to clean. Some stores are equipped one, like ours.
If you decide to go with a small tent, make sure that there is a space to store your backpack while you're inside the tent. Some stores have two small halls created by the extension of the fly rain. You will usually fit a smallish backpack in the hallway (this will not be waterproof).
