Booting Problem: System restarts continuously?
plz help!!!
when i try to start my computer, the system restarts again n again. i don’t have ne control on it as i can’t go on safe mode or nt even on bios setup.as it doesn’t boot…. its restarts it self in few sec while starting… its doesn’t even shows ne thing on screen…i tried changing ram slot but didn’t helpd i checked bios cell but its also workin fine….don’t know what to do????? plz help……………………..
my pc details:
win xp. sp1, intel 845, celrn 2.0 ghz, 256mb ram,
while starting its checks all the hwr as all the lights goes on ( keyboard/cd/cdrw/mouse) but just after that it restarts….i guess the smps is also workin fine as i opened the system n checked that when system restarts the light on the mother board doesn’t turn off i guess dat means my prower supply is also workin fine…. plz help

Okay your are running XP. What is most likely the cause is one of your start up files has been corrupted.
To try to fix this the first step is to boot off of your Windows XP CD.
After loading all the drivers, you will be asked if you want to reload Windows. At this point you hit F3 to go to a command prompt.
At the command prompt, type “chkdsk /r” with out the quotes.
Select the drive (usually number 1)
Then let it try to restore the missing files.

Step 2 (if the above does not work) is to reload the OS.
Note: you can pull the drive out and set it up on another Windows PC as a secondary drive to recover your data first.
